On Tap
The base recipe for this beer is a classic imperial IPA. There are plenty of hops both in the flavor and the bitterness in this beer as you would expect. But don't let that scare you away as the hops are balanced by a substantial amount of sweet malt flavors and a fair amount of alcohol (7.6%). The rye adds a pleasant spicy character to the malt and helps dry the beer out for a nice clean finish.
The base recipe for this beer is also an imperial IPA. There are plenty of hops both in the flavor and the bitterness in this beer, as well. What makes this beer so special and different is the dark roasted malts that were used in the mash. The dark malts give this beer its color and roasty malt flavors. Go easy on this one as it comes in at 8.3%
This beer might be the lightest in color and alcohol (6.6%) but don't let that fool you into thinking it is light in taste. This saison has plenty of yeast derived flavors (clove and pepper) to balance out the fruity esters and sweet wheat malt flavors.
