I think the fact that we wen 4 and 0 last week is my motivation to get an early start on these match-ups.  You all did a great job picking the winners last week, now it's time to rinse, lather and REPEAT!

A missed field goal, really!? If that hadn't happened we would've gone undefeated this week.  But as it stands we were 3-1 (I gave the tie in our favor) and 6-4 overall.  Not to shabby for a bunch of beer loving geeks.

With the "real" refs back this week I look for our record to improve drastically! Nothing worse than having your pretend, just for fun poll record ruined by a bad call.  Well, I guess it coulda been worse if I had actually put down any money on that game.

It looks like Red Brick Ales (making its HopHeadHuddle debut) is going to give Kind Beers a good ole fashioned bottle slam. You know the one where your friend slams his (I say his because a lady would never do this) bottle on the top of yours and starts a gusher.

It looks like the newest, largest American brewery in Saint Louis is going to throw its weight around this week and make a statement. What is that statement? If you are gonna make a pumpkin ale, make it

I guess it was bound to happen at some point, we have a tie in game 3 this week.  All week long, these two have been battling it out.  3 Stars goes up a couple votes, then TBBC goes up a couple votes. I am pretty sure this isn't going to end up as a tie so you may want to use one of those "real" football networks to pick your winner for this game.

Game 4 will be a classic divisional rivalry and it looks like it will be a good game.  Brooklyn Brewery has maintained a lead all week, so look for them to go up early and keep that lead for the rest of the game.

*Remember* You are voting for a brewery based on the quality of their beer. We don't have enough time in the day to pick spreads or base this on any representative athletic ability.  We are only picking the best brewery/beer lineup in each match up and if that predicts the outcome of the game, then so be it!-)

If you have any food pairing suggestions for any of these games let us know about them in the comment section below!

Week 3 polls will close Wednesday, Sept 26 11:59pm

Red Brick is making its HopHeadHuddle debut this week and you have to check out their beer line. Their core lineup looks tasty but it is their Brick Mason series that just may top Kind Beers this week. Vanilla Gorilla (seriously, one of the best names in beer) could do a lot of damage but don't count out Kind Beers. Each week they get the most votes even if their team doesn't perform for them.

Call this match-up the battle of the pumpkin beers! Each brewery has their own version and cult following.  But if ABV has anything to do with it then you might want to give a nod to Schlafly. Their pumpkin ale comes in at 8%! Now, that's a liquid pumpkin pie I want to try!

3 Stars makes their HopHeadHuddle debut this week but their line-up of heavy hitting beers (lowest ABV is 6.5%) is coming ready to play!  They give great descriptions of their beers and pairing suggestions.  3 Stars' Pandemic Porter and creme brulee is ready to take on TBBC's Moosekiller Barleywine meatloaf!

Philadelphia Brewing Company is the last HopHeadHuddle debut this week and boy do they have their work cut out for them. PBC's extensive and eclectic lineup is sure have many fans and so I am expecting a good matchup between these two.
