Week 6 Predictions

10/11/2012

HopHeads have predicted some exciting games for week six.

Fat Bottom looks to pummel East End (most unfortunate for this Steeler fan) in the first game this week.

The Pacific Coast and Red Brick games looks to be almost too close to call, but I will, anyway!-)

Picture
Schlafly continues do dominate this week over The Abbey Brewing Company.  Schlafly fans bring it each week!

Brooklyn Brewery continues to dominate as well.  The only thing holding them back is their host team!-)

Picture
Motor City and Philadelphia Brewing really are too close to call this week.  Good luck to both of you.

Boulevard debuts strong in this week's predictions and for good reason.  They make great tasting beer.

Picture
The games start to open up here with what looks to be a decisive wins by Heavy Seas and Flying Bison.

Picture
These two games feature some East Coast Power with Harpoon edging out Elysian and Brooklyn Brewery winning again this week against 21A.

Picture
My favorite Minnesota brewery will bring the Viking spirit with them to DC and teach them politician types how they play "footba up nort, dontcha know".

In the last game this week, Hinterland Brewing will be laughing at "the stars at night that are big and bright" as show no mercy to Karbach Brewing.

*Remember* You are voting for a brewery based on the quality of their beer. We don't have enough time in the day to pick spreads or base this on any representative athletic ability.  We are only picking the best brewery/beer lineup in each match up and if that predicts the outcome of the game, then so be it!-) If you can't make up your mind, visit the breweries' websites (click the logo pix) so you can make an educated prediction.

If you have any food pairing suggestions for any of these games let us know about them in the comment section below!

Week 6 polls will close by Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8:00 pm (ET)

Sustainability takes a side trip with retro-pinup girls in the first game this week. Look out for East End as they pulled out an upset last week!

Red Brick is on a roll as they host Pacific Coast Brewing Company.  Look out Red Brick, PCBC has a 7.2% IPA on cask!

Undefeated Shlafly Beer is on the road this week in Miami taking on The Abbey Brewing Co.  TABC just might upset Schlafly as they will be bringing some heavy hitters like a 10% Double and a 12% Quad.
Picture
Picture
Brugge Brasserie will be on the road visiting Brooklyn Brewery this week in what will be a great game. Brugge won last week and no doubt their sour beer will help them out again this week.

Philadelphia Brewing Co. will be hosting Motor City Brewing Works this week.  MCBW has an incredible line-up of 16 different beers not to mention 2 ciders, 4 wines and a bunch of sodas.
Picture

Boulevard Brewing Co. debuts this week on the road against Tampa Bay Brewing Company.  Boulevard Brewing will be brining it strong with over 20 different beers!  I am sure one of them will pair well with TBBC's Moose Killer Meatloaf, though.

This is going to be a great game, anyway you look at it.  Deep Ellum is on the road against Heavy Seas; both have fantastic beers and they will drink each other silly with them!
Picture
Picture
Flying Bison debuts this week as it travels west to take on The Phoenix Ale Brewery.  Each has a limited production but they do them well, each boasting of awards they have won. Visit their websites and decide for yourself.

Harpoon Brewery is making the long trip out to Seattle to take on Elysian Brewing Co. This is going to be a great matchup of regional powerhouses.

Brooklyn Brewery is here again, this time representing the Jets and making the cross country trip to take on the 21st Amendment Brewery.  Two great regional breweries going head to head and I can't pick my favorite so you will have to for me.

Surly Brewing Co. debuts this week against 3 Stars Brewing. 3 Stars has had a rough couple of weeks and they aren't going to get off easy this week, either.  Surly has a 99 IBU, 6.5% IPA called Furious that can do all kinds of damage on its own! I know from personal experience.

The last game of the week features Hinterland Brewery and Karbach Brewing Co. This will be a great match-up and  but Hinterland will have to watch out for the "Rodeo Clown" a 9.5% double IPA!
