During a family vacation it is always a good idea to check out the local beer scene. If you happen to be traveling through NW Iowa, specifically Okoboji, then you gotta stop at West O Beer.
West O Beer is a new brewery (4 weeks old when I visited in late June 2013) brewing some great beer. I tasted all of their beers and wether you are a HopHead (The 10 Foot 10 is 10.10% DIPA) and or something else you are sure to find a beer that you will like. I loved the 10 Foot 10, I am a HopHead after all, but the Pilsner stole the show. A 6% pilsner seems a little big but this beer drinks like a traditional 4% pilsner. Be careful though, this beer will sneak up on you; after two pints I was all warm and fuzzy!-)
