However, this isn't the end of beer pour'n! I have plans to go ahead with this project, albeit at a much slower pace and on a much smaller scale.
Please, consider "re-pledging" (by pledging I mean donating) through my personal PayPal account. Please be aware that by using PayPal, you will be automatically and immediately charged. I will be accepting donations until the project is finished.
The money raised for this project will be used to purchase the perks, a small HD video camera and set equipment. I will be purchasing all of the beer and glassware used in the video.
The new project will feature the correct pour for 10 beer styles into the correct glassware. Unfortunately, it will be hard to predict a project completion date without total funding. My goal is to finish the project by January, 2013.
The Same Perks!I will be offering the same perks (see right column) as the official KickStarter project. beer pour'n demo This is a link will take you to PayPal where you will see Curtis Taylor Illustrator and Fine Artist (that's me) and the donation description will say HopHeadSaid. |
Project Summary
Is there any better time for this project? NO! Right here, right now is a great time for beer geeks and beer enthusiasts around the world. Through the efforts of beer journalists and bloggers like me, beer is finally getting the respect it deserves.
The money raised from this project will be used to produce 10 short videos that demonstrate the correct pour for the 10 different beers in their appropriate glass. The videos will be a welcome addition to my already popular style.profile series in which I explain what to expect from each style of beer. In addition to the pour demonstration, the videos will briefly explain why each particular glass is best suited for a particular style of beer. Also, when it is appropriate I will include historical background and other trivia tidbits for each glass.
The funding will be used to purchase classic examples of each beer and the appropriate glass for each beer style. An original theme song will also be commissioned for these videos. The remaining money will be used to purchase specific set and recording equipment to properly showcase each perfect pour. The videos will be hosted on www.hopheadsaid.com.
Why is glassware important?
The glass geometries (shape, height, and thickness of the glass) play a very important role in how the beer is enjoyed. For example, thin glass lets the beer naturally warm up, which is good for some ale styles but hardly ever good for a lager. Some glasses are tall and skinny which allow the light to shine through them and showcase a beer's brilliant clarity. Tall and skinny glasses are perfect for pilsners but less dramatic for dark or cloudy beers. Taken as a whole the glass plays an important role as to how the beer is perceived and enjoyed especially if the beer is being paired with food.
